    Any Canadians on the site?

I would love to hear from Canadians from the praries or Americans from the northern states such as North Dakota.

    Talk soon...

I lived in Edmonton for a year and then in Sault Ste. Marie, ON for a year. And I married a Canadian. I will admit one thing about Canadians...they are so much nicer than Americans. (and of course healthcare is cheap:))

well alpine, lets just say that I had to go the emergency room in the Soo, ON...I was only charged $105 Canadian. So about $70 American. Well, here in the states, I would have paid probably close to $300 for something like that.

Do you know where Maple Ridge is in BC, that is where my wife is actually from?

met her through friends. I moved out to Edmonton to become a dual citizen once we got married, but we decided to move back to the states instead. But we ran into a problem. Since we got married in Canadian, we had to do about half of our paperwork in Canada before she was allowed in. So that is why we moved to Sault Ste. Marie, ON, which is on the border of Michigan so she could work and I could work and we could finish up the paperwork. It took her a little over two years to get her green card. Lets just say that it was TOO LONG!!!

Well, we now live in the central michigan area. But the reason that we lived right on the border, (which we were only like 1/2 block from the port) for she could work on the Canadian side and I just had to cross the port everyday to work as well on the state side. Because she was not legally allowed to live or work on the states side until her first half of her paperwork was complete, and my Visa expired, so I couldn't legally live or work on the Canadian side, even though I did live there, just not work. We got to know a lot of the guards as well, which made things a lot easier every time that I or her would cross.
