Thanks! I'm so relieved this worked out! I just picked up 2 new lawns that are over an acre a piece. The deck is 42" it's the z235 John Deere.

Can you still put a 21" mower with the ztr?

Yes! I have the Toro recycler that folds in half and stores vertically so that helps a ton. I just put it up against the back of the passenger seat and wrap a bungee cord around it. I'm gonna put another one in there eventually as my backup.

I'm gonna have to build some shelves to keep any of my hand tools from laying where the ztr will go now. This way it will be more organized and I wont be driving over anything. I'm thinking a drop down section from the top of the ceiling as well.

Man that's already been happening, but I guess on a smaller scale.

I know this thread is old, but how do you get the ztr out? If you winch it in dont you still have to drive it back out? I must be missing something....
    Nice looking setup though :cool2:

I remember seeing this thread, earlier in the year, and didn't subscribe to it. I think you've got the right idea, as I was thinking Ford Transit Connect/Toro 30" combo as a great city operation.

Anyway, my concern was with pulling the mower in. I was thinking that pulling anything hydro was bad for the wheel motors/pumps. You may inquire with your dealer or directly to the drive system manufacturer.

Both my mowers have bypass valves that can be opened, but, they're inconvenient and I have had one stick partially open (means no drive on that side). For sure, you won't be pulling either one of them without opening the valves.

I winch it out. If it were lighter I could just pull it back and help it down but it's not. So what I do is take off the parking brake and pull the ztr until the wheels are on the ramps and let gravity take over from there. Pretty easy to be honest.
