But last week I recived a cease and desist letter from NaturalLawn of America. I discused it with my attorny and took his advice about changing names..... I cannot fight a company with trademarks on "my" name so I have changed it.
I may have went with something like Natural Turf, Nature's Best, Nature's Lawn, or Nature's Way Lawns. That way, there isn't too much of a deviation from your old name, and there is the familiarity, there.
How did you change your name on the site here? I got a cease and desist order from the State of Michigan, my name infringed on a company less than 75 miles away so I had to scrap it. Just went with "Davis Lawn Mowing" instead. I have been trying to get it changed on lawnsite but I cant figure out how. Any suggestions?
I think that that has to be done through the moderators, but they can help you out. Otherwise, if you change your name, you lose all of your post count.
Then, to celebrate, go to the Tough-Guy Watering Hole on the county line, drink a bunch of beer, then go to the biggest guy in the room and slug him right between the eyes.
How can I contact a moderator of the site to change my name? Man, this was probably a dumb question. Let me know how to contact a moderator and then let me have it for the stupid question! lol
Greatlakes:
All you have to do is go to the bottom of this page, where it says Email Admin. , clic on there and send them a note.
It may take awhile for answer but you will get a reply.
I hope this helps!
Mike
Also, you can go to the assistance forum on here. That's from the homepage of this site, that has all the forums on it.
So Great Lakes put you to the wall for using their name, huh? That's really sort of ironic, really, because they JUST aquired that name (used to be All-Green).
They didnt say where the company was, just that the name was already taken and I needed to change it. Is there a GLLC in Flint or something? I was not sure how far the radius was for not having similar names, I thought it was 75 miles and I sure am closer than 75 miles if they are in the Flint area. Oh well, I kinda figured I would get this notice at some point, I thought the name was kinda easy to adapt and someone would already have it. I actually like Davis Lawn Mowing better since it incorporates my sir name and it will always be out there.
