I'm sure that Oregon is headed toward requiring CEUs - continuing education units - to renew landscape contracting business licenses: at some point.

    It's in the works.

Right now, I need about 30 CEUs for my arborist certification. If Oregon does it right, CEUs could, and should overlap so that a landscaper / arborist won't have to take twice the seminars or read twice the books.

How many of you folks across the nation need CEUs for you license? How about to retain a landscape certification?

Do you support the idea of CEUs? I'm mostly on the support side.

The Arborist CEU's that I obtain also count toward my Horticulturist certification.

That's exactly the concept that I mentioned to the landscape board members two years ago. With planning, CEUs should overlap to reduce the burden. It's nice to hear that it's working for you.
