    Hi,

I just started a business and I spent my day driving around figuring out quotes, what I did was measured lawns. So I'm wondering what to the pros charge for the sq foot if they do? Or if you charge lawns by small med. and large how many sq. feet fall into each of the 3 categories?

    I've been using...

    < 5,999 square feet* - $25.00
    6,000 - 9,999 sq ft - $30.00
    10,000 - 12,999 sq ft - $35.00
    13,000 - 15,999 sq ft - $40.00
    16,000 - 18,999 sq ft - $46.00
    19,000 - 21,999 sq ft - $52.00
    22,000 - 24,999 sq ft - $60.00

    ...with pretty good results.

This is this square footage of the house subtracted from the square footage of the lot as found on www.zillow.com or the county's appraisal records.

Of course prices will vary depending on where you live.

Ok my problem is this, i do student housing so the lots are small, 4000 at biggest, most are 1200-2000.. So you'd only charge 25 dollars on those from the moment you opened your truck and then drove off?

I guess you would need to figure out how long it all takes you and figure out how much you want to be earning per minute to get your rate.

Personally, I charge a minimum of $25. even if its a townhome.

I charge a $25 trip fee + $1 for every 1000 sq. ft. + any misc. charges for excessive growth/trimming/edging etc...

So as an example a 5000 sq ft lawn would look like this : $25 + 5= $30

    hope this helps!!!!

I like this one. I think I might adopt this method for more accurate pricing. Thanks a lot
