I have just signed on to do a couple good sized parks, and deffinetly need to upgrade equipment. I need something with a 42" deck at least. Would it be more cost effective to go with a ztr or walkbehind... oh yeah and price is a large factor.

Maybe go with a 54" Lesco ztr. I think they are rite at 6K or less and you are not walking or riding behind the mower all day.

You can get a real commercial 48" belt drive walkbehind for 3 grand. Hydro walk around $4500.

I would say it depends on the terrain and how much you are making per cut before I would decide to get a WB / Z / Stander. Lots of trees and beds, a hydro WB or Stander may be better. Wide open mowing with minimal trimming, and a Z would probably be the best bet. Need a little more info..
