Call the department of Ag. for your state.

Find regulatory info for MD here: <a href="http://www.mda.state.md.us/plant/piprof.htm">MD Plant Industries and Pest Management</a>.

Training in MD is run by <a href="http://www.pesticide.umd.edu/">PEAP</a>.

Visit your local county extension service. They will more than likely have some free literature as well as some books for sale that describes weeds/grasses growing in your area.

Some extension services offer 2-3 day short courses on various elements of the green industry. this will be very helpful if you do not have any horticultural background.
    Good Luck
