    I hope that this doesn't sound dumb but does anyone know what the c/k stands for. Ex. c/k2500

    c is the two wheel drive model and the K is the 4x4.

    the 1500 is 1/2 ton
    the 2500 is 3/4 ton
    the 3500 is 1 ton

    not a dumb queston.

    i always thought one was Chevy, the other GMC... always something to learn.

    It is true for both older Chevy's and GMCs I think.

    Fear this deere: I think you are right. GMC calls their pickup the Sierra. I think that started in 1988. Before that is was "trim level." The Chevrolet since 1999 are called the silverado.

    Chevys were the Cheyenne model and the Silverado, and then theres the GMC Sierra. But yea, like he said, C is 2WD and K is 4WD.
