My city requested bids for weed control on Parks & Rec areas .
I won the bid and my new job should of started in January .
I have called 3 times and visited their office 3 times , they called only once after the last phone call to them .

The other weed control company is still doing the work and receiving pay .
This is my job now .

    What can I do ?
They tell me at Parks & Rec they have not passed it through city counsel , the normal course of action to do such changes .

What actions can I take in this matter ?
What are my legal rights , if any ?

Does nayone have any experience with this ?

    Az

I have talked to a lawyer's secretary , she is claiming he can help , I am hesitant , I think the lawyer will just find a way to make money off me .
    It's a $100 gamble for a 30 minute visit
Maybe I will roll the dice

when dealing with the CITY, as you know one guy will be digging a hole and 7 will be giving advice....I was surprised to hear that you got a call back.

I would try to resolve the issue in person with the city manager before taking legal action. most of the time it's a simple misunderstanding, and can be settled out of court.

not sure about you, But I'de walk through FIRE not to go to court.

BEST of luck and pls keep us posted

dealing with gov. contract they are have to go thur a board for approve.I have been award contract with the city its goes thur the board and get approve. Then a few months later I'm wanting to get pay they forgot to approve the budget part of it.And I had one got approve thur the state and still took almost 5 months to get the contract..But yes I would go the the purchasing director maybe make an appointtment and ask whats up.Then if no luck go to the city manager. But dont hire an lawyer yet just be nice and see. If no luck or not answering question you can request to be on the next city meeting then ask. good luck

did you not get a letter stating that you may proceed with the work outlined in the contract? A copy of the signed contract from the city/administrator, with were and how to send the bill, plus when you would get paid?

If you did not get any of that you did not get the job. Hey if I was the other company and still getting paid I would still be doing the work until I got a letter saying my contract was not being renewed, or not getting paid when my contract had expired.

Who ever awarded you the contract you should contact them directly, and no one else.

were you awarded the job or just low bid? i know they write the contracts here alot that if funding should dry up they can cancel the contract at anytime, so that pretty much leaves them openly to drop you...
