Has anyone had experience with the old-style cam driven Model 500 Classen aerator. Machine is probably around 20 years-old. Has 4 caster wheels and 6 coring arms.

I ran 3 of them (different sizes 18", 24", and 36") about 18-20 years ago.

They did a good job and required less maintenance than most of the cam types. They were kind of heavy and you had to push them to move them unless the tines were operating, as I recall.....

If you contact Classen they can help with parts.
I used one of those dinosaurs for a year or two a while back.
    Classen had parts then.

How was the operation? Was it difficult to use? How well did it pull a plug? Thanks!

They were a bear to turn if you tried to man-handle them. With a little finesse instead of brawn, I could do about 30,000 sqft an hour. Doing laps, instead of back-and-forth.

    Great plugs.....
