Are there any legal requirements for adding "company" at the end of a business name? I know legal things have to be done to form an LLC or get INC. I'm changing my biz. name and want CO. to be in it.

When I filled out my DBA, I just specified that my company name was "Briardale Landscape Company". I didn't get any comments saying that that was not allowed. As long as you actually registered as a company, I don't see that it is inaccurate.

Sounds like you are not currently incorporated . Technically LLC 's are companies and C 's or S ' s are corporations . If you don't do one of these and have a company , you are a sole proprieter - the main difference imo is that you are not protected from liability .
