Anyone have production rates for cold planing asphalt with a Bobcat? We have used a planer while doing small repairs, but have a customer with a couple larger areas of parking lot that need repairs (4-5000 sf)

I don't have any production rates for Bobcat. Production rates from one machine to another would vary widely. It would depend largely on the size of planer and the flow in the Bobcat (hopefully it is a highflow machine) and so production rates would be machine specific. Weather conditions also influence cutting ability and cut quality. The newer planers (FFC) are able to take up to 40" at a time. Takes a lot of flow and HP to run them.

A planer won't run and be at all productive without a high flow or variable flow machine. When you get one dialed in to your machine, you can crawl back fairly quickly while it is running. You are only going to cut 18"-24" at a time no matter whose you buy.
