I did a search on this but did not find too many responses.
I am currently thinking of running an add in our church bulletin, and wondered if anyone has tried this, and if so have they had any luck.
I am pretty set on doing this, but just wanted some feedback.
I see it as a no lose situation, as the price is right, it targets the perfect clientel, and it helps a good cause.
Just wondered if anyone else has used this before.
    Thanks everyone, as always. :cool2:

    Hi Twins_lawn_care,

It sounds like a great way to build a bond with your community.

Ya, I did it at our largerly populated church. Try to realize that half the people that get those bulletins including myself never even look at the advertisements. I got absolutely nothing off it and ran it for a year. Had hardly anyone even notice it. I have a better idea just take that money you would spend and go to the casino, the chances of you makin a profit from it are much greater.

I am pretty surprised at this response, as I would think the audience is typically older, homeowners.

Not that I mind a trip to the casino, I just think that the odds wouldn't be so bad.

Were you able to take this as a deductible donation?

We are starting our second year in the bulleting. Don't really think it makes much difference, but look at it as a donation. Wouldn't do it at any other church though, where I wouldn't ordinarily donate. Also my biggest competitor is on the church council and I don't mind having him have to look at my ad every week.

I telling you a better idea to advertise to Church members. You know those church fans.

On the back of all them are an advetisement for a funeral home. Which in my opinion is the pits. Have about 100 fans printed up with your advertisment on the backand donate them to the Church. That would go good, it would also be a breath of fresh air, plus it's a write off.

Ya I was able to right it off as a donation. But if a donation is what your looking to right off there are plenty of other advertising opportunities. Like last year we donated two shade trees to the local high school. We got a big picture and a big write up in their about it. Also last year we made a donation to the kids miracle foundation. For two hundred bucks we got a three by five advertisement printed on plate mats that went to 13 local resteraunts. I didnt get any calls of the mats but alot of people told me they seen the add there. Two years ago we donated some shrubs and perennials that added up to about two hundred bucks to the churches "quite" garden. It is like a praying spot. We also pruned it up a little bit. Again we got a real nice picture in the newspaper and a nice write up. You would be suprised if you call local schools and churches and tell them you are willing to donate some things like that and all they have to do is call the local paper to let them know. Those write ups in the newspapers are gold.

    Thanks for the reply -new-
Those are good ideas to keep in mind, and I will probbaly look further into them as the business grows.
I wasn't looking at it as mainly a deduction, but was just curious, but your response was helpful.
    Keep them coming.
