commercial plates

    how much can i expect to pay for a commercial plate compared to a regular plate for the same truck the truck is a 2000 f 350

    In michigan you dont have seperate plates. I belive it is based on weight and type of truck though. I have a 93 f-250 8500# and its a regular plate

    I didn't think there were commerical plates. Just like what topgun said, the weight and type.

    Here in NC we have commercial plates, now called "weighted" plates. I think I paid like $50 extra for a weight up to 16,000#'s

    In MI if your gvw exceds 10000lbs you need a 24K plate which costs $490 a year

    Now that includes your trailer if you have any trailer behind a full size truck your gvw is over 10K
    Call your local commercial trafic division they will set you straight. I was given a ticket for not having a 24K plate
