I was reading the posts today and noticed someone saying how much better one mower cut than another, it was a this brand verses that brand thing. You know the same old song and dance. But reading farther I noticed the writer was comparing the cut quality of rider A, to the cut quality of walk behind B that was in question. I have done this myself in the past. It always seems to be the rider that cuts better. Is the result the same for others that use both? So for me this is never a fare comparison.

It isn't a fair comparison. It seems manufacturers put better quality decks on the riders, not all, but some.

How about everything equal engine, speed, conditions, brand etc. everything except one is a rider and the other a walk.

I can't compare equal to equal because I don't have that much equipment. But i still prefer the cut of a walk behind. I own a Z because it is more productive.
