Compost Tea Workshop in Wisconsin

Discussion in 'Organic Lawn Care' started by Compostwerks LLC, Jan 16, 2011.

  1. Hello kind folks;

    We're having yet another Compost Technology workshop. It will take place on February 22nd at the Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton Wisconsin.

    Fox Valley is a great place to have an event like this. They have done a fabulous job transitioning that campus from chemical to sustainable/resilient management practices. That work is being done by the students and lead by Jim Beard, Director of Horticulture. :clapping:

    Further information and online registration can be found here on our website.

    Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

    That could be a fun thing to do in the dead of winter here... The Valley isn't too far away for me, but I am fairly familiar with compost, how it builds soil structure, offers CE sites, etc., etc...
    Am I likely to learn anything new from the workshops?
    I might bring an associate along that may benefit from the exprience.

  3. It's certainly the kind of workshop that is geared towards people with some experience in this field. Actually, the students there do the brewing and CT applications on the campus. I'm very confident that everyone who comes will walk away with plenty of new knowedge and techniques.

    I have posted information on our blog all about Fox Valley's CT program. We'll be talking about things in much greater detail than what's in the video.

    Thank you very much for your interest, it will be nice to finally meet you!

  5. Your the first person who expressed interest in St Louis. Is there anyone else out there who would be interested in a workshop there, I'm game!

    There are quite a bit of stl guys on here I believe, just not in the orgainic section I think. I am in Decatur Illinois and was just upset that this shop was so far into Wisconsin that it would not be a day trip for me. I am less than 2 hours from StL and would come to this in a heartbeat if it you were to hold one there.

    I have a friend that is a district manager from Drury hotels that I could put you in contact with in that area if you needed a place for the workshop

  8. Thanks for your offer to help. I appreciate it.

    If there was a way to generate more interest, I'd like to know about it. Generally, it takes a minimum of 15-20 people to make it workable which covers travel expense, venue, food and administration.

    If you know of groups we could contact to publicize it, I'm happy to follow up.
