I have done several smaller walls in the past, and worked for another company several years ago where we built a lot of walls and always used an aggregate base. The job i am currently working on I am thinking about pouring a concrete footing for several reasons. The first being accessibility. It will be a lot easier to pump in concrete to pour the footing than it will to wheel barrow rock. The other being to make the changes in elevation easier. I have studied several walls on other properties I maintain that are built on concrete. It seems that it would not only be easier for my limited access site, but also to speed up the leveling process for the base course, since I can just lay up forms and steel, and start pouring, then build on top of it. Just curious if there is any reason this wouldn't be a good idea....Thanks.
