Every now and then I will get a message that the connection was refused when attempting to connect to LS. Usually it happens when I click a thread title or to a forum jump back to the main page of that forum. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

Any ideas? Is it in my computer or is it with LS? I don't think I've ever had it happen twice in a row, usually if the message pops up I'll just click the link again and it goes right to it. It's not a major problem, just a sometimes minor annoyance.

I have been getting the same thing lately. I just figured it was the new software. This happens a lot, when I'm trying to link to a thread from my email too.

It happened with the old software too, though it hasn't happened as much/often with the new software...

Got a connection refused notice when trying to post a message in the off-topic forum this morning (10/16) at approximately 8:50 (GMT -5), with 94 users online.

Any help on this one PL? I've got a feeling it's got something to do with my dialup....

    Dan,

I am not aware of issues with the server this morning, so the problem probably is with your connection. When you get a "Connection refused" error message, can you please copy-paste its exact text in this thread? That may help me to identify the problem.

If the problem persists, you may also perform a traceroute to lawnsite.com and post it in this thread so that we can see where the network problem is localized. You can find instructions on how to perform a traceroute on the following website:

(simply replace socrates.thinkhost.com by lawnsite.com in the instructions)

Got it at ~8:22 this morning.

It says: "The connection was refused when attempting to contact www.lawnsite.com". That was in an alert box. I was trying to open a picture in a new browser window, here's the URL: http://www.lawnsite.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=27217

Even though it's not been a persistant problem, I went ahead and did a traceroute. This is what was in the text file:
    Tracing route to lawnsite.com [69.44.57.232]

over a maximum of 30 hops:

    Trace complete.

I'm sure it's in my connection, but if you can verify that, I'd appreciate it.:) Thanks PL!

Been getting the same thing a lot today. Like when I go to submit a post, but not only then. Sometimes it's like Soupy said, when you try to link to a thread from e-mail.
I've always had it happen once and a while, but today it happened a lot. But then, I've been posting a lot today (pics and such).

P.S. It just happened when trying to submit this post! :)
