My balancer is on my Inside Garage Wall, with the moisture that is present in the air, I am getting surface rust on the balancer. Is this going to effect the performance, I am concerned that this is going to throw the unit out of wack~Brian

This should not greatly affect the balance, but to prevent it - when the magnetic chuck is pushed all the way back to the base, lightly spray some WD-40 on it, and cover it with a plastic bag or old sock to protect it.

    Thank you,

My balancer is doing the same thing. Should I lightly sand off the corosion before spraying on some WD-40?

Yes, or just use light oil on a cloth or fluid film. WD-40 is ok, but has a solvent in it, just make sure not to spray any WD-40 on the greased slide.
