I have my doors & tailgate lettered with vinyl, 1 color for $125.00. Magnets would be higher. I designed my own logo and paid $50.00 for a graphic artist to digitize(?) it for me so I can give to my printer and use it myself.

Changed to Vinyl lettering this year, looks good. For logo on each door(as shown below), and logo on tailgate with services and phone no. I paid $210.

We are separating our snow removal from our landscaping - so I started a new company. With the landscaping I designed the logo concept but had our T-Shirt maker's artist do the final work on it and then provide me with PMT's which I then scanned. I've done all the graphic layout from newsletters to letterhead in Quark Express.

However, for the snow company I hired a graphic designer. He designed the logo ($150.00) - two color, is working currently on the letterhead/envelope/business card's ($200) and updated my old snow brochure format/style ($200) in two color. I'm also having him design my website - 3 pages for $525.00.

I'll fill in the holes and do the small layout and graphics, but with the new company I thought it best to hire someone. I'm happy I did. On a shoe string budget it would have been more difficult - but all things considered, it's worth it. He charges $20/$25 an hour and he's got fresh ideas. He does this stuff for a living - where as the stuff I produce looks clean, but maybe not as eye catching since I'm not trained at it.

Magnets - I've bought vinyl magnets for $40.00 a piece in the past. I just had 24 screen printed (instead of vinyl) for $12.00 a piece. I needed a minimum of 8 magnets to replace ones I had on the road. At $12 a piece they aren't as nice, but I also got 3 times as many for the same cost.

Oh - these magnets are one color - green on white back ground. Anytime you add a second color you add cost. My printing costs for two color on the snow business will be considerably more than what I've paid for the landscape business. If you design your own logo or have someone else do it - keep in mind the extra cost of each additional color. And the ready availability of that color. If it's a special color and it has to be mixed every time you get shirts made or paper printed, you'll pay extra charges in set up fees. Pick stock process colors and you'll save money.
