The roots of a few cottonwood trees are starting to grow and sprout shoots all over the place .
Is there a herbicide I can use that will kill that root and not the tree .
How do ya get rid of the suckers so they don't come back

Thanks for the help , if there is some :)

"Reward" works wonders on suckers at my house but it is off label for customers.

Well on Cottonwood tree's I don't think you ever can completely because they's part of the way they grow and and renew themselves I believe.I'm not positive on this but I do know that they will reproduce from the roots.
I don't know of a herbicide you can use on them that wont damage the roots and possibly harm the tree. You could P.M.
Coffiecraven or Coffiecraver and ask him,he's pretty knowlageable about these things and you can trust what he says is well reasearched.
