I don't know? But there is an iphone free app,

    Leafsnap

follow the link. My wife saw this app work at a Master Gardener's meeting. Seems you take a picture of the leaf on a white back ground, then let the software work. I've got a Blackberry that there is not support for with Leafsnap. But when my contract is up I'm getting an Iphone just for this app.

I've got Leafsnap on my iPad. It's a nice app but I can't get it to identify anything but tree leaves.....no common lawn weeds.

Funny how you can have highs and lows from just reading one thread. I read about the app and got super excited, then read further and was let down. Oh well. I imagine in the near future an app like this that works well is bound to come about!
