cow manure for sod

    im looking to instal some sod in my front yard. It is 900 sq feet and i was told i need 40-45 bags of compost "humore". were talking about 300 dollars without tax. but i have access to free cow manure from my uncles dairy farm. could i and how can i use this free manure to save me money. i am also considering doing my back yard wich is another 900 or so feet.

    As long as it is well and completely composted, there isn't anything better for growing turf or anything else in than cow manure. Just make sure you get the stuff from the bottom of the pile- un or poorly composted manure can be bad.
