I have a ton of crabgrass in natural areas in my backyard... none in the turfgrass (centipede). I hit it with glyphosphate a couple of times this summer but it just keeps coming back. I figure I will just let it die out in the fall but I want to prevent it next year. What's an effective pre-m for crabgrass and when should I apply it? I am in zone 7. Thanks!

early march is a good time to apply Pre-m then I would hit it again in late April to prolong the protection. Pendulum or Dimension are both good choices.

If you have been hitting these natural areas with glyphosate you are always going to have some type of weed. You are killing your turfgrass as well. Spraying herbicides is no remedy for barespots with weeds. Plant grass. Use pre-m or selective control once you have some turfgrass established.
