I just replaced the piston assembly & check valve on a craftsman 2hp 135PSI horizontal air compressor. The unit runs fine but never shuts off while holding on to 120PSI on the guage ( dial meter ).

Any suggestions as in reference to what else I can do besides buying another compressor ?

    Please Respond.

    Thanks.

Could the pressure switch be sticking or gotten bumped while you were working on the compressor ?

If it is set to shut off at 135 psi and it is not reaching over 120 then it seems the pressure switch is working. You may have a leaking fitting causing compressor not to reach the 135 psi required to shut it down or you have a problem with the valves in the compressor.
