We have an FS 85 that has a bad front crankshaft seal and i'm not really sure on how to replace it. Does the engine have to be torn apart to replace it? Also it will not idle and I think this may be due to the seal being bad because i've anjusted on the carb and that doesn't help and it runs perfect at any other throttle position. Any info is appreciated.

Pull the flywheel and remove old seal thats all there is to it. A lot of times the bearing is bad is the reason the seal failed. The engine would have to come apart to replace the bearing. FS 85's are very easy to work on...a complete tear down and put back together is about an hour.
