I have a problem with my Z Force 48" ZTR. Went to mow this morning and the blades would not engage and run. I found this weird because everything was ship shape on Wednesday. I can put my deck all the way down and the blades will engage but when I raise my deck up the blades will not engage and run anymore. Anyone have any suggestions or anything or had this problem before? Im afraid I will be calling my local CC dealer tomorrow morning and try to get it in to be fixed. It is still under warranty thank goodness. It just seems like even when I have the deck all the way down, the belts dont seem to be going full bore or anything and are struggling to move. All the belts appear to be on ok and no debris in the way that I can see. Just a weird occurrance maybe.

I took the housing off of where the blade switch and ignition are located and it appeared to be plugged in when I felt it and monkeyed around with it to make sure it was not loose and tried my damnedest to make it go on further with no such luck so it appears to be on ok.

Are you sure one of the belt guide bolts isn't bent and causing the belt to slip or not turn? I have a MTD ProZ and it is not possible to engage the deck in the top two height positions. The belt rubs on the hanger bracket and shreads within seconds. It took 4 belts to figure out what was happening.

make sure your blade belt is on the right side of the adjustable pully. The lever on the drivers side of the deck may have up. Even with the lever down the belt can end up on the wrong side. Happens to us once and a while.

if its a electric clutch, may need adjusting.

Commercial will come when I can afford it, this is all the credit I could muster. Thanks for the input guys, I am taking it in Monday to be serviced as I have tinkered with it enough. The belts seem to be on enough for it to run somewhat in the down position but who knows. It is an electric clutch. I'll just let the dealer mess with it and get it right as it is still under warranty and wont cost me a dime.

nope its. your spendles or tensioner. My brother has a 44" z force and had the spendles replaced 4 times so far. all under warrenty. thats why they call it a residental mower. You get what you pay for
