Cub cadet trans fluid

    Does anyone know if Cub cadet hydro fluid is 20w50 motor oil or a special blend.:confused:

    Don't know about there tractors, but in their hydro mowers its 20-50

    insted of the qt
    gallion is cheaper

    Their hydro oil is a synthetic blend oil. If you use a regular oil the performance will suffer.

    They do not have a recommended oil change period. If you change the filter regularly as the tell you, the oil itself can go for years. They say to change it only if you get it contaminated or it's overheated and darkens from being burnt.

    This oil is very cheap to use because it lasts so much longer that it would be foolish to change to anything else.

    Cub used to use Hy-Tran oil but this synthetic makes the tranny much faster and really quiets the hydro whine down.
