Just wondering why it seems that there are alot of LCO'S who use Walk Behinds instead of ztrs in this forum. Where I am from just about all of us use ZTRS or front end mowers. Is it a regional thing? What is so good about walk behinds?

personally--the 48" WB works for me very well. I don't even carry a trim mower with the agility of my WB.

am I in the market for a ZTR? yes. a front mower? yes.

but I'll still use my WB.

I think it is a regional thing, everyone around here uses walkers even on big open properties they are using 48" walkers.

We use nothing less than 60" ZTRs and weedeaters.

    No WBs....no push.

If the ZTRs can't do the job, it doesn't get done.

Flame away, but I've got all the business I can handle.

I think a lot of things play a role in equipment decisions.

But yeah, the regional thing plays a big part.

Heck, up until just a very few years ago, seldom did you ever see any sort of zero turn mowing equipment around here... ZTR's or WB's... and they are still a minority.

I agree with OMG, I have never had a use for a WB. If the Z and trimmer cant do it, they are outta luck.

In my area ZTRs are everywhere. I use a 21 for 2 really, really small yards I can't get my 36s into. I use my 36s for the 1 gated yard my Dixie won't fit into and various other jobs like really steep hills and narrow areas. My Dixie cuts around 80% to 90% of total.
