I want both a front and rear adjustment so that the angle of the bedknife is not changed over the range of height adjustment. With a fixed rear, the McLane has an overly aggressive angle when set to cut low and not enough when it is set to cut higher. I want it to cut well at all height ranges, including 2". Not everything I deal with is mowed down to fairway height. There are two grasses that must not be cut lower than 2". Setting the height of cut with the front and rear rollers will be done with the height adjustment bar with the screws and locknuts in them.

That was a good explanation. You are really getting the most out of that mower!

The Jacobsen triplex greens mower circa 1977 (real POS btw) had a quick height adjustment lever to switch between green and collar height on the back of each reel unit. The idea was good in principle but not too flexible. It was a fixed offset - something like current greens height plus 1/4".

Clip rate has to change as well. Either the reels have to be slowed down or there has to be fewer blades. I can tell I need to do one of those or both on my Greensmaster.
