Customer won't pay???

    New customer won't pay, started doing his yard June 1st,
    invoiced him for June no check, 2nd invoice no check, went and
    talked to him and he say's he is not paying, fell on hard times
    and don't have the money.

    What can you do?? What do you guy's do about this??
    Bill is for $125.00

    You can take him to court, get a judgement, and put a lien on his property. Chances are you'll see the money someday. But you're going to have to put the work in to get to that point.

    Anything over $100 I will take to small claims. I always try to contact the customer before I would file. Only have had to file once in 4 years. Cost about $40 something but applied it towards the judgement. they settled the day before it was due, paying the total and my court costs. It takes time but you will learn to weed these kind of people out. Marc

    Before I'd take him to court, try to work out a payment schedule, even if its only $10-$20 a month. Let him know you're not gonna let him slide. If that fails, take him to court.

    He's probably betting that you'll let it go since its a relatively small amount of money.
