Has anyone here had the experience where they made a comment about a customer and later were confronted by that customer about that comment because they read this forum and recognized themselves and the LCO?
I can say I never have but can surely see it happening to somebody.

dont post the name of your business and no one will ever know the difference. Sure they may pick out a few similarities but they will never truly know if it is you talking trash or not.

No, but I'm waiting and I think ready for it, too... It is one reason I've decided to relax some, and the thought crosses my mind from time to time.

I would think (and hope) that if any of my better customers (which really is most of them) read this, that they would be smart enough to realize this is private conversation between company owners. If this is not the case, it might cause a minor amount of embarrassment, but I would think not much beyond that.

Now if one of my pitas reads this, that would likely be the end of it right then and there.
It would not be a good idea to call me on it if the relationship is already straining, they would most likely be looking for another Lco...
If anything, I would hope this is all they need in order to start looking, it likely wouldn't hurt my feelings if they canceled service.

Worst case scenario would be a misunderstanding, that would not be fun.

p.s.: I just did a search on google, seeing how my Co. name's in the signature... Out of all things, my Web site's server's forum comes up first with a post about my crontabs not working LOL. Then there's a bunch of other stony point stuff (unrelated to me), and eventually LS posts show as well.
Possibly the one thing that I might catch serious embarrassment about is my other Web site, which I build for fun and it has a bunch of adult stuff but it's not an out-an-out porn site, just games and whole lotta crap and stuff, still it's not exactly safe for work and I wouldn't recommend it to religious folks... But in 5 years, nobody has said anything to me about any of this Internet stuff.

Being a wizard I can always use my +10 cloak of anonymity.lol For the same reason I don't put the company name on my personal truck I also won't use my name in a chat room, I like to freely speak my mind at times and say what I really mean however annoying it might be. Isn't that part of the premise of a forum such as this? And yes, that works both ways.

I don't think that my customers know that this site exists and I certainly don't share that with them. Besides even if they made it here with all the information that they can look at what are the chances that they figure out that I am here posting comments, Also I try not to bash anyone as its bad karma. Do you think that a PITA knows that they are a PITA?

This is very possible and so one must be aware of that happening when posting about customers on the world wide web. This forum is open to the public
    we need to remember that.
