I own a 2005 Simplicity Citation 48". It leaves stringers frequently and is giving me terrible cut quality. I'm running G5 blades brand new freshly sharpened and replaced high lifts that were also brand new and freshly sharpened. When I first bought the mower I could cut thick grass full speed and it looked great. It now does not want to cut thin, wispy grass (idk what type, I'm from MN if that helps) at all. It takes at least two cuts to get it right. I have read all over and read that hustler thread going on now. My deck adjustment is off almost 3/4 of an inch. If I set my deck to 3 inches it will cut at almost 2 1/4" without any spacers on the blades. The cut is perfectly level from side to side but it's like I'm not getting enough lift. I checked my spindles by moving my blade and my middle and right spindle had a very small amount of play while my left had none. I feel like it would take a lot more play than this to throw off my cut. It cuts great on thicker, stiff grass like my home, but I think the thin grass isn't getting lifted enough. PLEASE HELP before I lose customers!

I feel your pain man, I'm the one with the hustler problem. I spoke with a hustler rep this morning and he said a couple things that I have already tried. It may come down to them having to come out and see the problem first hand

I tried to call simplicity but couldn't get their number. I then called Briggs and had them send me to simplicity where the phone rang for 10 mins. Then I left a message and 2 weeks later they haven't responded

Have you checked the deck rake? Most mowers are run 1/4" lower in front. Incorrect deck rake could explain your lack of vacuum. One last thought have you tried going back to the high lifts and see if that helped?

It's pitched 1/4 higher in back. I used gator 3 in 1 then I had the issue. Switched to new high lifts and then G5s and the issue continued.

I have the same issue with my Toro 3000. My mower is going back to the dealer to see what the issue is. Everyone I know thinks Turbo Force is 1 of the best cutting decks out there. When I talked to my dealer/ high school friend he said he can't believe this mower is cutting like crap. I am bringing it to him on Friday so I will keep you updated, because it is extremely frustrating to double cut because the mower is leaving stragglers.

I was thinking that my next mower would be a z master w/ turbo force depending on which college I go to. I've heard the turbo is everything an ultra cut is but it is better in the really long stuff.

Trash them G5 blades Put OEM blades back on Should fix the problem

Taller the cut is the slower you need to go or double cut

Had the same issue with the high lifts as the G5. They were on just before the g5s showed up a few days ago
