Cutting heights

    What cutting height should I be cutting lawns at with my 60" lazer z mower? I cut at 3.5 inches currently. Is that good?

    Are you a southern or northern guy?

    If southern, I am not qualified to give you answer.

    If northern (grass is fescues, KBG, ryegrass), your cut at 3.5 inches now is just about right. Do you mow for biz, or is this just your own lawn? I cut at 3" with my walk behind, just so it is a bit more manicured for my customers, but surely nothing wrong with 3.5 inches.

    St. Augustine should be cut at 3.5 at the shortest, optimal height is at about 3 and 7/8 to 4 inches.
