Have you ever checked the actual cutting hieght of your blades on your Z's as compared to the settings on the mower. I find that my Z's a semi new Toro 250 hrs and my old Exmark Z 3200 hrs are both 1/2" off. 3" on the mower adjust scale is actually 2.5" from flat surface to cutting edge. Measurements of deck springs are on spec with service manual. Any thoughts on how to correct this problem or should I just continue to raise the deck up by 1/2" setting to compensate for the error which I've been doing since I've noticed the difference?

Curious minds would like to know!

I've never checked the actual height on my mower. After using it for awhile I pretty much know which setting to put it on for the yard I am cutting. From other posts I seen, the actual height varies depending on the brand of mower.

yeah Deere and Toro are completely different. We test cut ours almost every morning and match them up to the ZTR as it does the most work.

I have my Scag tuned in to within a 1/8in. When set at 3in it cuts at 2 7/8....

Scag is adjusted near the foot pedal lift.
