What do you guys use to cut sod? Im currently using a simple Gerber pocket knife with a half straight and half serrated blade on it. It dulls after every job like im sure most knifes would but what are your guys techniques and what kinda of edge do you use on your knifes, what im trying to say is do you use more of a v shape or convex edge on it, not sure if those are the right words, Please post picture of your sod cutting tools.

P.S. for all you happy to be an, oh whats the word i can use and not get removed? oh well you guys know who and what you are:clapping:. I tried the seach and could find what im looking for, so save it.

We always used a machete but a heavy weighted irrigation shovel would work to.

We always used cheap box cutters. The ones that you just stick out further and break off the dull part. Don't cut dirt with a good knife.

I use a utility knife to cut when the sod is laid out.

If I'm at an edge, and I need to cut a whole piece width wise, then I measure what I need, keep the sod rolled, and cut the piece I need with a pruning saw with a 10 inch blade. Kinda like rolling a sheet of dough and cutting it.

This way keeps my long cuts square.
