I visited a buddy of mine in Ohio who just bought a house. I've never seen such a nasty yard. Dandelions, wild violet, clover, god knows how much crabgrass and other green weeds. He's also got moles or something.

He asked me what to do and I told him to call in a professional. Well he's not going to do that... I don't do weeds, I just blow and mow, plus I work out of Michigan so I don't know who to point him to anyway.

What should I tell him? Its about a 1/3 acre yard. He's going to do the weed and feed stuff (Scott's or whatever). Is there any better way to handle this?

And as far as the moles - do they sometimes just go away? Or does he need to get rid of them? We didn't see any, just a lot of mud tracks and a few holes in the yard.

This would be a good before/after picture(if he ever gets to after).

    Thanks,
    Greg

Call a pro. The violets will be dificult to control. Anything he buys at home depot for them will be like bringing a knife to a gun fight. The moles will most likely have to be removed.

Sell the house and move to another.
