My grass is just starting to wake up and the temps are still mostly in the 50's at best during the day. But surrounding my house in front is vacant property that is a dandelion factory. It has already started to pop up in my front yard. What is the best way to "protect" my grass?

2 options. First when they come in your lawn you can spot spray them or 2 if you have a company fertilize your lawn ask them to treat the lawn across the street with with weed control no fertilizer or you could do it. Someone may get mad if you choose the 2 option.

Best defense against weeds is a well fertilized healthy stand of grass. Water deeply and infrequently as possible. Mow as high as you can stand it. Weed pressure drops once you push past 3.5"
