A customer asked me to de-thatch her yard. She also said her lawn has been fertilized (I'm assuming crabgrass preventer, she didn't know exactly what was put down). If I de-thatch now won't that destroy the "barrier" of the crabgrass preventer?

    Thanks,

Yes, it will break the barrier. Explain this to her and you can always de-thatch in the fall. Sometimes this happens and I will just blow the lawn off instead of de-thatching and blowing.
