    :canadaflag:Hi all,
My back Lawn has been completely destroyed by grubs, and the weeds are running rampant.
My question is, can I kill the grubs and weeds and put topsoil on top of the dead grass or must I remove the old grass and then put the topsoil on?
My backyard is very large, if I have to remove the old grass would a bobcat do the job. Thanking all of you in advance for any advice you can give.

Spray it with glyphosate (such as Roundup) and seed with a slitseeder (not necessarily in that order). Apply starter fert, and water water water. 2-3 weeks later, hit it again with starter fert.. That's the beauty of slit seeding. you don't have to make more work of it than you have to. :)

What Joe said, plus plan on killing the grubs this fall when they start feeding again, in the new generation.
