dead spots: HELP!!!

    Ok so i've got a couple customers who have dead spaces next to flower gardens edged by wooden planks or just random dead spots....my Q is what do i need to do besides just throw seed on it ??!!??!!! please respond to my moronic Q i've promised to help these ppl and don't know what to do

    You could try pouring soapy water outside the dead areas to see if it is insect damage (they may appear) or dig around some. If you don't know what it is, it is hard to treat it. It could be fungus. Try looking on the internet for grass problems or something to that effect and see if you see something that looks similar.
