I see a lot of reference on here to deck pitch, but I can't find any definitive documentation on what it SHOULD be. Are there any standard guidelines, or does it differ from deck to deck.

I have been mowing with commercial mowers for over 13 years now, and have always just left my decks set up the way they came from the dealer. If I needed to change cutting height I always move the same number of "holes" If individual adjustments, or simply move the deck height lever if that is what controls deck height.

I am always open to new ways to improve performance/cut, so if I can "tweak" the deck pitch to make it better, I would like to understand how to best do it.

My motto is "I don't know, I just mow", but here's what I have been told, and it works. For my 52" Scag SSZ, the front of the deck is pitched down .25" lower than the back. It really enhanced striping.
