Looking for leads on locations and availability for some different varieties of decorative rock. We currently get our black trap and Merramac from Missouri. Washed gravel and bark mulch is available locally. Would like to add a couple of more varieties to our selection.

Anyone have any info on quarry locations in Indiana, Missouri, or Southern Illinois? What do they have available? We have a local guy handle the trucking so delivery is not needed. Thanks for any help.

In Perryville Mo there are 2 or 3 of the largest stone suppliers in the mid-west from what i understand. One is "Semco Distributing Inc - 4.4 miles NW - 50 Robinson Industrial Dr, Perryville, 63775 - (636) 464-8770"

    The other one is:

    Earthworks Inc - 4.2 miles N - 4287 N Hwy 51, Perryville, 63775 - (573) 547-9097

These places are so large that your jaw will drop. It is amazing how much stone they have. I know more people that use SEMCO but i know both are good. Most of the stone you see in the wholesale places and contractor supples come from these 2 company's in st. Louis and the surrounding areas

    Hope this helps<

Thanks Jim. We already use Semco forour boulders and flagstone and have for several years. Would like to bypass the middle man on the decorative rock and go straight to the quarry. Doing so saved us over $20.00 per ton on the black trap and about $10.00 per ton on the Merramac compared to Semco's price.

Anyone have info on some quarry locations?
