Never thought that I would say it, but, I found a mower that I like better than my 27hp-62" Toro Zs. It is the John Deere 997. I can't get over how well this mower performs. I just bought this thing and it is a beast with its 72" deck and 31hp. I am going to keep them working side by side for a while, but if things continue as they seem now, I will probably replace all my big Toros with 997s. I hope it holds up, it sure appears to be solidly built. I'll let you know if it doesn't.

Is your toro a turbo force deck....if not there is a HUGE difference between the SFS and the turboforce decks

Yea - Go Deere - We mounted a Flexie on one last summer, and I got to spend about 20 minutes on the 997, and wow - what a ride. I have always run tractors due to lots of steep ditches, but the future may hold a combination of a Tractor and 997.

You bet your britches..............LOL. I have never ran the 997 but have seen them and they look very bold. I bet it has something to do with that big YELLOW seat...........C-mon:cool2:
