I have the opportunity to buy a 2001 JD GX95 that is in excellent condition for $650. I originally had my heart set on an older front engine model (111, 160, STX, etc) but this seems like a really good deal. One thing that concerns me is how well the rear engine mowers can handle pulling aerators, carts, etc.

Any thoughts from the experts or someone who has owned one?

I have a 30in 10hp murray rear engine mower and love it, our lot is right at 1/2 acre it's great for mowing close to fences and around walk's and tree's with the 12' turning radius. I have pulled 100+ bricks in 1 load, mortar and sand to with no problems, have'nt used it to pull a aerator yet but plan on buying 1 soon and should'nt have a problem pulling it.

oh yea I am new to the board,
But that's a damn good price for a JD, If your lot is 1 acre or less I would go for it.
