will be starting a lawn business in the spring, and was shopping around for a "beginner", yet practical commercial lawn mower. I am leaning toward a wb, 36"(will be doing mostly residential...pass thru gates). My question,.. what does everyone think of the, "DEK 36" Honda powered, commercial duty, WB"? The price is pretty decent($2700) for a 36", brand new, commercial WB. Thanks in advance.

DEK looks like a pretty well built mower and it has a floating deck which means less scalping the turf. Tool-free deck height adjustment is a big plus as well.

I would spend the extra $500.00 and get the Hydrostatic model for $3299.00, much easier to operate, better productivity too. Here's a link to that model below.

DEK is NOT a Chinese made mower either, you will get some posters saying that. They are thinking of the Sutech mowers, they are Chinese made mowers.

As close as you are to BOP I'd have to suggest you look at their 36" mower. Local service and made in NC. You can get a single hydro for way less than the gear drive you are looking at. Spend the balance on other equipment.
