I'm a home owner looking a purchasing a Exmark 60" Kohler warranted demo unit with 250 hours. Should I shy away from a demo unit?

If it has a regular warranty, I wouldn't let it scare me away. I'm not familiar with that mower, but know many here love Exmark. Hopefully you'll get some more feedback. Some could help you better if you supplied a little more info such as price. Good luck.

How much and how does it look. If the price is right it might be a excellent deal. Being a home owner 250 hrs is like buying a rental car with 25000 miles. Hope this helps:)

Thanks for your help. I'm a little nervous spending this kind of money witout any advise. It is a Exmark Laser Z 60" w/ a 25 hp Kohler for 5900. It looks very clean to me and the dealer seems honest. Sound good?

How much would a new one run in your area. If it looks to be well maintained, and you can get the standard waranty with it, it would be great deal. Being a homeowner, you wont run it as hard as us commercial cutters and the machine ought to last you just about forever. I would say its an excellent deal.

Thanks Jason. A new one cost 7100 so I'm saving $1200. In addition, Exmark is throwing in the micro mulch kit for free. Sounds good, but I got nervous when I read some of the pros saying that they would never buy a demo unit. I'm hoping that I purchase the last mower that I ever buy.

That is a great deal on a 60" no doubt. I wish that I could have found such a sweet deal when I was looking! That would cost $7500 in SW Georga:cry:

WIth the minimal hours that you will put on the machine, it will last just about forever. MAKE SURE you get an as new waranty. Enjoy your toy.;)

YOu have to understand that many pros put on more than 1000 hours/yr. They want to be sure that the machine was properly serviced and was not abused. THey feal that they can control this beter if they buy new machines.
