i was thinking about offering this to our customers this fall, but was wondering everyone thoughts. there are some lawns that core aeration will help reduce the thatch layer, but will not get rid of it to the extent it needs to be reduced. for these lawns i want to dethatch.

so, what do you think about dethatching?

also, for those that do, how do you clean up the thatch after it is power raked to the surface? most of you probably have a large commercial type mower that collects the thatch, but we don't...is there anyway to get around raking them up like leaves?

I dethatch allot of lawns and the best way I found is a blower and a Guatemalan, either that or wait and do it just before our lawn guys come and mow.

We do quite a bit of Dethatching every year, have a 54" front-mount on the front of the tractor.

As soon as I can fit one in the budget, I'll definitely get one. That would be a nice machine to have.
