Did you deduct your trip to GIE Expo?

    I've got about 1000 miles recorded for the GIE expo I went to this year. Is this a deductable business expense? I didn't buy or sell anything there. I'll have about $500 in expenses. I'm afraid they'll see 1000 extra miles and raise an audit flag.

    Yes you can deduct it. It's a business trip. The mileage, parking, meals, hotel, etc.. are all business cost's so long as the purpose of the trip was for your company. You should talk to an accountant for the particulars. If you don't have an accountant I think H&R Block gives free tax info.
