    Dixie Chopper XG2503 Quad Loop

    Serial # 6060157

    Not a mechanic here.

    Machine is approaching 2000 hours.

One of the drive wheels is now locked up. What can or should I expect to have serviced on this machine at this point in time? Dealers are 60+ miles away.

Quick look seems the right rear tire / wheel will wiggle.

Is the hole in the rim still round or egg shape?
Is there a tag on the wheel motor?

Your likely looking at a new wheel motor and complete hydro system flush with new filters, And hope there's no damage to the pump......

I am hoping it is just the hub connection. I will pull the wheel today and grab some photos.

    Thanks everyone.

It seems the shaft key sheared and chewed up the hub and shaft.

That wouldn't "lock up" a wheel......

I was told the wheel was locked up by the crew. I later inspected it myself.

When I was trying to break loose the nuts, the wheel would turn and it seemed smooth with a fair amount of resistance.

Still not much of a mechanic but I can do some basic maintenance.

The only tag I could find was actually a stamp - HBO 13976 on both wheel motors one with a FD ( combined ) with a 1 on the right and 3 on the left.

I assume I need to order a wheel motor rebuild kit with a new shaft and wheel flange and key stock.

I have not seen any thing telling me what I need ( tools ) or how to rebuild the unit.

There's no wheel motor rebuild "kit"......

    Looks like you need;

    1) PW72545 Shaft
    1) PB333700 Seal Kit
    1) PW72546 Key
    1) 67002 Hub

No special tools are required...... Just take it apart in a CLEAN area and install the new shaft with new seals.....
